How to take your basics to next level

Jeans and T-shirt are the go-to outfits for everyone from college students to fashion editors for a reason - and not just because it's a comfy look. The simplicity of a great pair of jeans and a clean white tee makes it one of the most versatile outfits. It allows you to go from a day at the park to dinner with friends to a night of bar hopping and dancing with just a quick accessories change.

Hint of gold

Accessorizing should be seen like the spice of an outfit. Subtle touch or loud statement, accessorizing can do wonders. Everything looks better with a hint of gold. A bold necklace, even on a dull tee or tank, instantly draws the eye in and makes your basics feel instantly special.

Summer layering

Have you heard of the third piece rule? If you haven't, third piece is an extra outfit element which instantly makes you look more put together. An ideal third piece for summer layering can be light coat, a waist coat or a scarf which will certainly not make you feel hot, but make you look hotter. My personal favourite is to layer a sheer piece on a basic outfit to make it not so basic. Sheer, chiffon, mesh or lace will add an effortless style to any look.
